I marathoned AgainaFanficCritic’s BennytheBeast/Hewylewis “Adventures of” reads while working on art.

What’s really weird (or pathetic from a different point of view) about Benny’s “Adventures” is the fact that there was effort put into his videos. Instead of subtitles most of the time, it’s voice-acted and Benny made special art for each video edited together in After Effects. But Benny, or Logan later when he did his Hindenburg disaster story with Benny’s characters, didn’t realize that he crossed the line way far out in some adventures. A Titanic “Adventure” by Benny is mentioned in the Hindenburg read, but towards the end it tied into an “Adventure” of Disney’s Little Mermaid for some offensive reason. It’s very likely none of this was based on any honest tribute to real disasters.

Logan’s commented on the read of his Hindenburg fanfic, “Well at least I didn’t do anything stupid like putting a giant octopus in the story! LOL” Putting furries, Raffiki, El Arca characters, Madagascar, R2D2, and The Cowardly Lion in disasters or dark sleuth stories is fucking close if not the same! On-top of that, it’s jarringly off-putting when in this Slender-man story it gets Marbel Hornets involved (”BLJaR’s Adventures of Marbel Hornets” technically) and there’s severe tonal whiplash all the while Stefano the Seal and Jiminy Cricket are interrogating someone. Also one of the BLJaRs is goofily dressed as Darkwing Duck while finding missing children. Logan’s Hindenburg story meanwhile diminishes everything into one-liners and disaster movie tropes. At least Benny’s Slender-man fanfic is more involved with more of a story going on than Logan’s “let’s eat, shit, and piss on the ship before we don’t see it eventually happening”, although Benny’s climax is irredeemably far-fetched.

I’m not dissing Benny or Logan as people in this post, in fact they handled these videos pretty cool when AaFC was posting them. Benny is a decent speaker from the private messages I had with him about his “Adventures” or his art, though his arguments I think were easy to dispute. I didn’t work with Benny for any art, but I did work with Logan and ended poorly. Basically it’s all driven by extreme Disney / furry fandom.

And no, Logan. HiT Entertainment isn’t the reason for Thomas’ insults.
